Okay, so now it’s time for me to deliver on my promise, helping you grow your email list and revenue with ease.

There’s no secret sauce here, you just need to leverage an impactful but grossly underutilized approach: a referral program.

This involves partnering with individuals and organizations who already have access to your audience.

And, in this case, it also involves delivering an educational webinar to their audience with the goal of converting some attendees into clients.

If you’re struggling to land clients, I highly recommend trying out this approach. Just one “yes” from a partner can get you in front of dozens, maybe even hundreds of prospects.

So, here’s how you do it.

STEP 1: IDENTIFY AND PITCH PARTNERS

Selecting the right partner is crucial to the success of your program. You need to find individuals and organizations who already have access to your audience and would be willing to let you deliver a webinar to that audience.

I’ll give you an example to wrap your head around:

My agency, Good People Digital, serves entrepreneurs by giving you the strategy and digital assets needed to monetize your knowledge.

So, I’ll look for individuals and organizations that already have access to my audience.

    For me, this would include:

    • Public speaking coaches
    • Entrepreneur accelerators
    • Personal branding accelerators

I’ll then reach out and ask if they’d be interested in a partnership. If they say yes, I’ll present to their audience, and they get paid for any attendee who ends up becoming a client.

Simple right? I know, you probably need more information.

You can view the full details of my partner referral program here.

And I created a document that highlights how you should introduce the opportunity, even if the potential partner has never heard of you before. (link here)

Once you get a yes, you can continue on with the process.

    STEP 2: CREATE PROMOTIONAL ASSETS:

Next, you’ll want to make it as easy as possible for your partner to promote the webinar.

This means you’ll want to provide them with all the assets needed to spread the word including:

    • Email copy for their newsletter
    • Social media copy and creative

Heads up, when providing them with social media assets, I suggest providing them with a Canva link.

This way they can easily make quick corrections or change the content to better align with their brand.

Again, you can find examples of what to share in the same document I provided earlier.

STEP 3: CREATE A LANDING PAGE FOR THE EVENT

Pretty straightforward here, you’ll need a landing page so attendees can register.

And if your partner would like to get access to the registration list as well – especially if they get subscribers who aren’t already on their list from the social media promotion – be sure to include a disclaimer that you’ll be sharing registered attendees’ data.

You can view the landing page I’m using for my events here.

STEP 4: CREATE A PRESENTATION DECK FOR YOUR EVENT

Again, pretty straightforward here as well, but you’ll want to be careful in regard to how you present the content.

I’ve found it’s beneficial to focus on one outcome the audience is seeking, and then break it down into 3-4 steps.

Share frameworks, but also include stories or case studies for added context. However, don’t give away ALL the details, that’s what they need you for.

Once the training portion is over, let the audience know they can stick around if they’d like to hear how you can help them apply what they’ve learned.

You now have permission to pitch! But don’t be too salesy. Just explain your process, share examples of success, and then ask the audience if they’d like to take the next step.

This next step could be to book a call or go ahead and make a purchase.

If you want to see me in action, you can attend my upcoming partner webinar.

STEP 5: CREATE A FOLLOW UP EMAIL SEQUENCE

Although you may get some clients or book calls from the webinar, you’re not done yet.

You’ll want to create an email sequence that will encourage attendees who have not yet converted to take the next step.

I recommend sending three emails over a 7 day time period. And, if you’re offering any sort of discount, use that to create a sense of urgency.

    STEP 6: DETERMINE COMPENSATION

In order to get a decent number of partners, you’ll need to adequately reward them. .

For my referral program, we offer $250 or 15% of revenue generated from the first project, whichever is greater. You can get more details here and if you want to sign up, please do!

On your end, offer enough to make it enticing to partners, but not so much that you lose all your margin.

    BONUS

Don’t just stop at the webinar – give these partners an affiliate link so they can continue promoting going forward.

By doing so you’ll get unexpected sales and sales calls going forward, and the impact will compound over time.

Hope this was helpful and let me know if you’ve joined the Reclaim + Advance launch team.

    I appreciate your support!
