I often get the same response when I ask people why they don’t post on LinkedIn more often; they can’t think of anything to write.

If you’ve ever had this problem, I’m here to offer you a simple solution. And, this solution won’t just give you an unlimited number of content ideas.

It will also help you land clients that want to work with you based on who you are as a person, not just what you offer as a business.

Here’s all you have to do; share stories from your personal and professional life that educate, inspire or entertain your audience.

Check out a few frameworks for the stories you can tell.

    • What you’ve learned – and how it can help others
    • Mistakes you made – and how you grew from them
    • Who you helped – and the impact it had on them

Aim to not only share, but only educate your audience. This way, you’re guaranteed to provide valuable content.

And by telling these stories your audience will start to know, like and trust you. Beyond that, you’ll be able to immediately differentiate yourself from anyone who is offering the same service as you.

I learned of this approach while interviewing Hala Taha during a recent episode of my podcast. Tune in for more details as well as additional guidance on growing and monetizing your audience.

I’ll share a few examples of my personal and professional stories below.

The post you just read helped me form a stronger connection with other parents who were struggling during the pandemic while also highlighting my dry humor.

We all have someone in our life that’s supporting our journey. This post served as a reminder to give them recognition and express our gratitude.

These are tough times for a lot of people. But you’d be amazed at the positive impact it can have on them by sharing your struggles and how you navigate through challenging times.

    Next steps

It’s time to tell your story. Get started by jotting down ten examples from your personal and professional life. And going forward, be mindful of your everyday experiences that can be turned into content.

With this approach, the act of writing becomes an integration to your daily life, not an interruption.

    Terry’s Recommendation Zone

Creating content on LinkedIn has landed me clients, speaking gigs and strategic partnerships. Beyond that, I’ve been able to form deep relationships with other professionals, many of whom I’ve met offline as well.

If you’d like a streamlined step-by-step process for consistently posting high-quality content that attracts clients, I highly recommend joining The LinkedIn Operating System video course by Justin Welsh.

I purchased his course and was amazed with the impact. My LinkedIn content views increased by 58% in just one month, which also led to revenue generating opportunities.

Beyond that I was able to create content much quicker by leveraging the frameworks he shares. So if you’re looking to up your LinkedIn game, I can’t recommend his course highly enough.
