A New Year Means New Goals.
But if you’re anything like me, the excitement of setting goals can lead to overcommitting, and burnout.
At the start of 2024, I wanted this to be my year of less, but better. Instead, I did more, and a lot of it didn’t work out the way I planned.
Sound familiar?
It wasn’t just frustrating, it was exhausting.
I felt stretched so thin that I wasn’t fully present for my kids at times, my gym sessions felt rushed or skipped altogether, and the creative spark I value so much started to fade.
Why? I didn’t create a schedule or lifestyle that supported my goals. I added more tasks instead of focusing on what really mattered.
Here’s what made the difference.
I used ChatGPT to help design a schedule that put the right things front and center. My family, my fitness, and my creativity.
It forced me to focus, cut distractions, and let go of the guilt of trying to do it all.
Now, I’m getting more done in less time, and I’m doing it without sacrificing the things that matter most.
Here’s how I did it, and how you can too.
How to Create Your “Less, But Better” Schedule
- List All Your Goals and Responsibilities.
- Professional: Weekly meetings, deadlines, client calls.
- Personal: Gym time, personal development, hobbies.
- Map Your Preferences.
- When do you prefer doing specific activities?
- What are your highest priorities and non-negotiables?
- Ask ChatGPT to Optimize Your Schedule.
Use this prompt:
“Here’s a list of my goals, responsibilities, and time preferences. Create a weekly schedule that fits everything in and caps my work hours at [X hours] per week. If I can’t fit it all in, suggest what I should automate, delegate, or eliminate based on my goals.”
- Make Adjustments.
AI helps you design the structure, but you decide what stays and what goes. Focus on fewer tasks done better.
Look. I understand this might seem like a lot, but here’s what you can expect.
This process allowed me to create a routine that helps me accomplish more in less time. Curious about the results? You can check out the routine it helped me build right here.
Pro tip: If you’re finding it tough to jot down all the details of your schedule, try speaking it out loud instead. Use a voice-to-text tool to create a transcript, then share it with ChatGPT for analysis.
Turning information into action.
I’d love for you to try this out and see how much clarity and focus it brings to your life.
Take the time to map out your goals, give ChatGPT the details, and watch how quickly you can create a schedule that works for you, not against you.
Also, I just shared another prompt on LinkedIn that will help you get your ideas accepted more often. It’s simple, actionable, and can make a big difference in how you present your next big pitch or project.
