I see a lot of entrepreneurs making the same mistake: Not sharing enough valuable information with their audience.

And, I often hear the same explanation as to why: “If I give my knowledge away for free, how am I supposed to make any money?”

I get it. You spent years acquiring this knowledge, so it sounds counterintuitive to just give that information away for nothing.

But at the same time, you may be frustrated and confused as to why more people aren’t willing to pay you for that knowledge.

I’ll explain why this is happening and provide a solution.

Before someone buys from you, they have to be able to look at you and say, “That person understands me and has plan to help me achieve my goals.”

So, if you don’t share your plan to achieve their goals – your knowledge – they won’t trust you enough to make a purchase.

Beyond that, here’s something else to wrap your head around:

Information is free and largely available. People pay for help with customization, implementation, and accountability.

Your audience can already find the information you’re withholding.

However, when you freely share your information online, you’ll attract people who recognize your talent and would like your assistance in applying what they’ve learned from you.

The easiest way to get started?

Step 1: Think of ten questions your audience has

Step 2: Answer them with your content (social media, newsletter, podcast, etc.)

Step 3: Ask them if they want help implementing what you’ve shared

You’ll gain the attention and respect of your audience, and you’ll also learn a lot about them based on the conversations you start.

As I just mentioned, information is free and largely available.

So now I want to share some of my favorite free courses with you.

    Terry’s Recommendation Zone

Although it’s possible to get good information for free, you’re eventually going to have to spend some money. But how should you spend your money? I’ll share a quote to illustrate, it’s one of my favorite takeaways from Rich Dad, Poor Dad.

If you want to be rich, stock up on assets that will generate a good cash flow for you.

For my business, my best revenue generating “asset” is my executive assistant. Every minute she spends performing activities to keep my business running, I get to spend time performing activities that will keep my business growing.

So, instead of rescheduling a meeting, I’m pitching a potential client.

She’s performed so well that I’m now offering her a profit share on top of what I pay for her day to day work.

If you’d like to spend more time in your zone of genius, and less time on tasks that waste your time, energy and talent, I highly recommend checking out ChatterBoss. This is how I found my executive assistant, and I’m so glad they were recommended to me as well.

Curious to learn more? I created a video sharing all the tasks I delegate and how you can learn more about the service. Save half off onboarding if you schedule a consultation now through December 25th and use the discount code 2024DELEGATE.

That’s it for today. And if you found value in those free resources, let me know, I have plenty more to share.

    Have a great weekend!
