At this time last year I had a good idea that went horribly wrong.
I’ll explain the idea, how I messed up, and how you can avoid the same mistake.
As you may have noticed, several brands are promoting Black Friday deals.
Last year I was tempted to buy a bunch of fancy gadgets but then I heard someone say, “It’s only a deal if you were already planning on buying it in the first place.”
That’s when I decided not to buy a water bottle that reminds you to drink water (even though it was a great deal), and instead focused on buying stuff that was directly aligned with my overall goals.
Fortunately, I was able to find amazing Black Friday deals for online courses that would help me reach my business goals.
I bought them, felt great about it, and didn’t complete any of them.
So, I’ll need to amend that advice I received about Black Friday: “It’s only a deal if you were already planning on buying it in the first place and actually use it”
Otherwise, you just wasted your money and perhaps should have just gone with that magic water bottle.
Why didn’t I take any of those courses, even though I knew they would build my business?
I would give you an excuse, but I’d just sound like one of my kids trying to talk their way out of something.
Instead, I’ll go broad and say most people don’t finish online courses.
A study from Research Gate revealed the completion rate of online courses is between 5–15%.
So here’s the situation . . .
We know the completion rate for online courses is abysmal.
But we also know they’re an affordable way to gain the knowledge you need to grow your business.
So what’s missing? Accountability.
I didn’t have anyone to hold me accountable for completing those courses – along with actually applying what I learned – and most courses don’t come with an accountability program.
And that’s a shame, because that accountability is almost like a cheat code, giving you an unfair advantage over your competitors.
So how can you invest in yourself and get the accountability needed to attain the results you want?
There’s never been an easier way.
The Smart Passive Income Pro community provides the courses and community you need to build an audience and monetize your work.

To be honest, I was a bit surprised at how supportive they were when I first joined. But, that could be due to the fact that I’ve lived in Brooklyn for too long.
And as an Expert-in-Residence, I’ve blocked off time every day to answer any questions you may have for me, so keep them coming.
Need to chat live? You can also catch me at my live monthly office hours.
So if you’re looking for the knowledge, support and accountability needed to grow your business in 2024, I hope you’ll consider applying for the SPI Pro community.
